Several feasibility studies regarding higher education opportunities at the former Mount Senario College campus in Ladysmith, Wisconsin have recently been conducted. Each study indicated a high need and interest for higher education in this region of the state. To fill the education void in the region, we are working toward establishing the Mount Senario Education Center ( MSEC ) focusing on life-long learning opportunities for residents throughout the region.

The mission of the MSEC is to meet the diverse educational needs of adults in northwest Wisconsin.

To accomplish this goal, we have been communicating with several colleges and universities to join our partnership in forming the MSEC , to work collaboratively in providing a wide array of undergraduate (degree completion), graduate level, continuing and professional education, and non-credit / enrichment courses that otherwise would not be available at just one school.

Check this website for future developments as we make progress! For further information, please email us at: info@mountsenario.com

Located on the grounds of the Mount Scenario Education Center is the Fine Arts Center and Gallery. The goal of the Fine Arts Center is to be the place where artists will interact with the general public, patrons and other artists. A center where individuals may take classes that will enhance their personal abilities. Available is the Common Grounds Coffee Lounge, a place of meeting, conversation, relaxation and good will. Represented in the Art Center are established arts organizations such as: Flambeau Valley Arts Association FVAAA, Flambeau Area Fiber Artists FAVA, Rusk Area Arts Alliance RAAA, and The Writers Exchange.

The Gallery will show case creative works where individuals may go to purchase and experience the arts. Not only artists from Rusk County but artists from around the United States will display their works.

Both the Fine Arts Center and Gallery function under the guidance of a Board of Directors. Both the Center and Gallery are dependent on volunteers carrying out the many required jobs.

As the Mount Scenario Education Center grows the Art Center and Gallery will be joined by the Children’s Museum, The Education Center, a bookstore, restaurant and other entities.
